In 1919, William P. McPhee, president of McPhee & McGinnity, proposed to the Denver Real Property Trade that the organization build a community house in Globeville. In 2012, the first year following the most recent fee will increase, annual paid membership for recreation centers fell by 51.9 percent, from nearly 96,000 memberships in 2011 to about 46,000 (IBO counts two six-month memberships as one annual membership).
